EOTAS Tutoring

Flexible, relationship-led tuition for children and young people whose special educational needs make a school setting unsuitable. Cripps Education Group can provide one-to-one online teaching as part of an Education Otherwise Than At School (EOTAS) arrangement, with learning shaped around the young person and the outcomes in their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

What is EOTAS?

EOTAS is education arranged outside a school or other institution when that is appropriate for a child or young person with an EHCP. A tailored package may involve several providers and forms of support. Tuition is one possible part of that package; the local authority remains responsible for the provision it agrees to arrange.

How our tutoring can help

We start by getting to know the learner, their interests, strengths and barriers to education. Sessions can then build confidence, establish a manageable routine and develop academic skills at a pace that works for them. Support may be useful for young people with SEND, emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), anxiety around learning, or a period of disrupted education.

Our approach combines personalised teaching, clear goals and regular communication with families and professionals. We can discuss subjects, session frequency, accessibility needs and progress reporting when planning an individual programme.

For families, schools and local authorities

Families can contact us to explore whether our tuition suits a proposed or existing EOTAS package. We also welcome enquiries from schools and local authority teams seeking an education provider. The provision, commissioning route and any funding or direct payment arrangements depend on the individual EHCP and the local authority’s agreement; an EOTAS package is not an automatic cash allowance for families.

Talk to us about a learner

Tell us the young person’s age, learning goals, current provision and the type of support you are considering. We will discuss whether our tutoring is a good fit and the practical next steps. Use the Contact Us page to make an enquiry.
